What's the difference between a steel wheel and an alloy wheel?

Alloy wheels, also called aluminum wheels, are more-lightweight and stylish than steel wheels. Alloy wheels do not accept hub caps. Alloy wheels are more common on newer vehicles. Steel wheels do accept hub caps. The wheels themselves are black or silver steel and not decorative. They are also heavier than alloy wheels.

Why can't a steel wheel be straightened?

Simply put, we can't bend steel. Alloy is a malleable metal, but steel is not. Therefore, we can straighten alloy wheels without compromising the alloy's integrity.

How do I know what size my wheel is?

The size of your wheel can be found on your tire. Look for a series of numbers of your tire starting with the letter "P." For example, a tire size might read "P185/60/R14." The number after the "R" is the size of your wheel; in the example, the wheel size would be 14 inches.

Where do you get your hub caps?

A great deal of the hub caps come from dealers, distributors, and salvage yards. Also, many drivers prefer to replace their factory hub caps with custom, or after-market, hub caps. In many instances, Hub Cap Annie offers discounts on custom hub caps in exchange for the driver's factory hub caps.

HUB CAP ANNIE DOES NOT PURCHASE HUB CAPS FROM ANYONE OTHER THAN AUTHORIZED SOURCES.

How long does it take to refinish an alloy wheel?

In most cases, the time to refinish an alloy wheel is 48 hours. A main reason for this is the clear coat we apply after refinishing. It is the same grade of clear coat that the factories use, and it requires 24 hours to properly dry on the wheel. The benefits of industry-grade clear coat is well worth the wait, because it provides protection from daily wear and weather.

How long does it take to straighten an alloy wheel?

Straightening wheels require 48 hours as well.

Do you sell just single hub caps?
